Today is 20 years since Maserati raced an MC12. The two limited edition versions of the MC20 honor the company’s return to motorsports after almost 40 years. Hello, MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda.

The outside of each car has a different finish that was taken from two old MC12s. In this group, the MC20 Icona stands out the most thanks to its two-tone white and blue paint job. They are Bianco Audace Matte on top and Blue Stradale on the bottom, as seen on the MC12 Stradale. The MC20 Leggenda is based on the very stylish MC12 GT1 Vitaphone, which is mostly black with beautiful teal details. Digital Mint Matte and Nero Essenza are the names Maserati gives these colors. We’ll say it was amazing.

The Maserati Fuoriserie Personalization Program lets you choose the trim and color for these one-of-a-kind MC20s. There are white Maserati Fuoriserie badges next to the back wheels and an Italian flag design on the Icona’s bumpers. The brake pads and wheel center caps are also painted blue with triangles on them. Under a carbon fiber engine cover is the 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbo engine.

The MC20 Leggenda’s wheels and center caps are black, and the Trident is green. It also has mint Fuoriserie logos low on the body and yellow Trident and MC20 buttons prominently displayed higher up. The engine cover is made of carbon fiber, and behind the wheels, the black brake pistons are hard to see.

There are black four-way monocoque race seats in both MC20s. Leggenda seats have silver stitching, while Icona chairs have blue stitching. The mechanicals below are standard MC20 parts. Still, it’s not a bad thing. The Nettuno V-6’s 621 horsepower gets it to 60 mph in less than 2.9 seconds, even though it only has to move 3,300 pounds.

You might only be able to see these models right now. To mark Maserati’s 20th anniversary of getting back into racing, only twenty of each trim will be made.
