If you liked the new BMW M3 CS but thought it had too many doors, you’re in luck. With the 2025 BMW M4 CS, BMW will have a long line of well-known CS cars. The M4 CS builds on the base M4 by adding more speed, better suspension, and lighter weight, similar to the ’24 M3 CS.
The M3 CS and M4 CS both use the same S58 mill, which is the same thing. If you don’t speak BMW, a turbocharged 3.0-liter I6 engine with an eight-speed automatic gearbox will make 543 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. This power is then sent to the normal all-wheel drive system.
This has 20 more horsepower than the standard M4 Competition xDrive, which might not seem like a lot on paper. Thanks to a better engine and other changes, the M4 CS can now hit 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, though. That’s 0.2 seconds faster than the M4 Competition xDrive, which looks the same.
Efforts to reduce mass also help this engine. The M4 CS comes with lightweight 19-inch front wheels and 20-inch rear wheels. The maker will fit track-oriented tires on these wheels for no extra charge.
The top, hood, and front lip are all made of carbon fiber. A Gurney rear spoiler and a rear diffuser are also present. The mirror covers are also made of carbon fiber. A lightweight exhaust system reduces weight by eight pounds, for a total of forty-five pounds.
An electrically controlled changeable damper system holds this thing up. BMW says that the M4 CS has an “Adaptive M suspension,” which is made up of springs, anti-roll bars, and a finely tuned steering system. Changes have been made to the M Dynamic Mode to make the wheel slip better when the engine is running at full speed.
To stop the M4 CS, a set of M-Compound brakes with red or black calipers clamp iron wheels. The gold brake pads finish off the M4 CS’s carbon-ceramic brakes. The M4 CS has leather M Carbon seats, and the inside of the three-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel is covered in Alcantara microsuede.
The carbon-fiber interior trim, accent-stitched seat belts, and sill plates for the M4 CS add a bit of style. Please feel free to worry about the weight saved by removing the screen; the 14.9-inch media system screen and the 12.3-inch digital driver display will still be there.
It looks better with an open kidney grille and more visible carbon fiber. The M4 CS will have four different exterior paint jobs: Brooklyn gray, frozen Isle of Man green metallic, black sapphire metallic, and Riviera blue.
BMW says it will start making the M4 CS in July at its plant in Dingolfing, Germany. Adding one to your fleet costs at least $124,675. This doesn’t include the extra carbon-ceramic brakes or any other add-ons. It’s almost $30,000 more than the base price of the M4 Competition xDrive ($89,475). The M4 CSL’s original price of $140,895 has already been cut significantly.
