  • The 11th-generation Honda Civic is now hybrid after a mid-cycle modification. The top two trim levels are Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid.
  • A 2.0-liter inline-four hybrid’s two motors provide 200 hp and 232 lb-ft. Hybrid automobiles and hatchbacks exist.
  • Every 2025 Honda Civic has new taillights and a new grille. Top Sport Touring Hybrid vehicles can link to Google.

The mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 Honda Civic adds new colors, grilles, taillights, and a number of available Google apps. However, the most important change is that the range has a mixed model again.

The last time a hybrid Civic was seen here was in 2015. After the model was taken off the market, Honda made the Insight hybrid, which was essentially the same as an electric Civic except for its name.

People are becoming increasingly interested in fully electric vehicles, so Honda made the right choice to bring back the Insight to the Civic range. The Insight was removed from the market after the 2022 model year.

The 2025 Honda Civic hybrid features a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine and a two-motor hybrid system, which is very similar to the technology in the Accord. Honda says that in Civic form, it will have 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful Civic that isn’t a Type R.

The hybrid will come in sedan and hatchback body styles, the same as the gas-only cars. The blend, on the other hand, will have a slightly different change from the bottom of the line to the top.

In 2025, the Honda Civic will be available at four different price points. The 2.0-liter LX car with 158 horsepower is the base model, and the Sport comes next. Both can only be bought in non-hybrid versions. As their names suggest, the Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid models are the only ones with a hybrid system.

Worth noting for absence? The hybrid really does perform better than the 180-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged EX type. Honda, on the other hand, thinks that 40% of Civic sales will be hybrid models. The company that makes turbos thinks that turbo fans will be happy with the hybrid’s more power and estimated 50 mpg combined gas mileage.

The 2025 Honda Civic hybrid also has four regenerative braking modes, which can be chosen with the steering wheel’s paddles. When you take your foot off the gas pedal, brake regen modulation acts like a downshift, slowing the car down more quickly.

Honda’s Linear Shift Control also models the effect of changing gears while applying the throttle pedal since the two-motor hybrid system doesn’t have a traditional transmission.

The hybrid cars come with a hybrid-specific tire, special tuning for the springs and dampers, and Active Noise Control as standard. The Sport Touring Hybrid models also have wheel resonators, which reduce wheel noise. All 2025 Honda Civic models get a slightly different front end, with a darker collection of taillights at the back and a grille and fascia that stand out more.

Hybrid trim levels have a lower front lip and headlight bezels that are the same color as the car’s body. The best Sport Touring Hybrid cars also have new wheels with seven black metal spokes. There are now four new paint colors: Solar Silver Metallic, Urban Gray Pearl, Sand Dune Pearl (only on hatchbacks), and a dark Blue Lagoon that is only offered on sedans.

Also, hybrids can have an interior color scheme other than black, which is only offered in one color on other models. This color scheme is gray. Sport Hybrid models come with a sunroof, heated front seats, and dual-zone climate control as standard. Sport Touring Hybrid models have leather seats, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a larger 9-inch touchscreen in the middle, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The top-of-the-line Sport Touring Hybrid cars are also the first Civics to come with Google features like Maps and Assistant built-in.

The 2025 Civic sedan will be on sale at Honda dealerships beginning next month. Later this summer, hatchback models will also be available. The Sport Touring Hybrid is likely to start at $30,000, though prices have not been announced yet. This is the same price as the base model for the 2024 Touring.
