- The 2025 Toyota GR Supra will have two versions: the 3.0 and the 3.0 Premium. Both will have a manual gearbox.
- The new base engine for the two-seat Supra is a 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 from BMW. It has 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque.
- In 2025, you won’t be able to get the GR Supra with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
Toyota is showing off the GR Supra for the 25th model year, but the most interesting news may be what’s not coming.
For the 25th model year, the GR Supra will only come with the more powerful I6 engine, not the base model’s turbocharged I4 engine. You will still be able to send messages by hand, and your NASA annual subscription will still work.
The only engine option for the Supra will be BMW’s 3.0-liter turbocharged I6, which makes 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque when paired with either an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. You can no longer get the 2.0-liter supercharged I4 engine.
Like all the other fifth-generation GR Supras, that power only goes to the back axle. Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, makes the BMW Z4 and Supra under contract. They use the same platform and engine.
Since there isn’t an entry-level GR Supra 2.0, the National Auto Sports Association year subscription might be even more appealing. This membership lasts for a year and gives you discounts on NASA classes and one free high-performance driving event.
Bad news: the base model of the new GR Supra will cost $57,345, which is $850 more than the old 3.0-liter GR Supra and $9,810 more than the 2.0-liter model if the 2.0-liter GR Supra is not offered.
People who want to buy their first GR Supra have to make a tough choice: if the GR Supra 3.0 is too pricey, they can switch to the GR 86, which costs less.
