After eight years, Bugatti fulfilled its promise of producing 500 Chiron supercars. To mark this milestone, a unique Super Sport version was crafted, brimming with intriguing details from the car’s illustrious history. These distinctive features are what set this final model apart.
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016, the Chiron, successor to the Veyron, retained the W-16 engine in a new chassis. Bugatti is now preparing to introduce a new 16-cylinder engine for a new car, but not before the last Chiron is delivered. This transition is overseen by Mate Rimac, a renowned EV hypercar driver, adding another chapter to Bugatti’s storied history.
The Chiron Super Sport is faster than any other car on the market right now, with a top speed of over 300 mph and almost 1,500 horsepower. It’s no longer for sale. The last one is built, and the first show car is reimagined. It has a lot of details about how many Chirons were made and sold in 2016.
The 500th car’s paint job honors the places where it has made an impression over the last ten years. It still has the same French Racing and Atlantic blue tones as the original show car. Paint-matched wheels in different colors look great with the body’s newly faded paint job. All over the bodywork are handwritten notes that list places and events that helped shape the Chiron lore.
Some of these places and names are the Paul Ricard circuit, Chantilly, Geneva, the launch site for the car, and, of course, the Ehra-Lessien testing track, where the car went 300 mph. The famous Château Saint-Jean and Cape Canaveral are also mentioned as places where people can experience the Chiron’s fastest speed. Bugatti’s old home in Molsheim is also mentioned.
The outside, wheel caps, rear wing, seats, and W-16 engine cover all have a handwritten “500” mark on them, making the car even more special. Bands of Atlantic Blue paint show the French flag on the horseshoe grille and the door mirrors. Carbon fiber and deep blue leather finish the inside of the car.
With this unique work of art, we retraced the Chiron’s incredible eight-year journey with moments that will be remembered worldwide, said Bugatti President Christophe Piochon. “The Chiron has created a horde of devoted fans in addition to its many industry-first innovations and unique world-first accomplishments.” The Bolide and W16 Mistral will be made starting in June, and our new model will be shown off in the meantime. A suitable farewell, this 500th and final Chiron model showcases a heritage that will forever define vehicle history.
As was already said, Bugatti will now switch to a brand-new car with a hybrid V-16 engine that can make up to 1,800 horsepower at 9,000 rpm. Great cars like the W-16 Chiron Super Sport exist, but it looks like Bugatti is making something even better.
